Sarah loves working with children and young adults to produce fantastic, inspiring art and stimulating experience of working with a "real artist"! With twenty years experience as a professional artist, a PGCE Secondary Art from Plymouth University, and having taught at South Dartmoor Community College, South Devon College, Torquay Community College, Torquay Boys Grammar School, Tiverton High School, she loves to pass on her skills to aspiring young artists.

Past projects have included abstract oil pastel panels based on the landscape for Widecombe Primary School, and many projects including oil pastel self portraits based on work by the Fauvist movement, collograph prints based on Greek myths, watercolour landscapes based on her own paintings, and three colour lino cut prints inspired by natural forms at South Dartmoor Community College.

She has also taken part in a ground breaking idea of working in a "studio" in Tiverton School, working on current paintings and giving talks to classes, whilst giving them the chance to make hands on experimentation with certain techniques she uses in her own work.

Some schools find it useful to supplement the art departments' teaching with the experience of working with an artist, perhaps in a medium that may be unfamiliar to the staff, or to "fill in the gaps" of some aspects of the teaching of the National Curriculum in Art. Projects can be tailor-made to focus on the environment of the area, or specific themes or techniques, and don't have to be as expensive as you might think!

If you would like to discuss possible ideas, please call Sarah on 01626 833404, or email her.
